Subject: How to use social networking effectively without wasting your time
Along with blogging, I have found Twitter to be a fantastic way to grow my audience, get traffic to my blog and sell books and courses online. But regardless of the social network you want to use, there is one sure way to use it effectively without wasting time.
*FOCUS* on one social network and use it to specifically promote your brand direct people to your online hub
You can choose Facebook, Goodreads, Twitter, YouTube or any other social network, but you need to
In this video, I specifically explain how authors and writers can use twitter to promote themselves and sell books =>
The tips apply to any social network really:
* Focus on your niche and your brand e.g. I only tweet about writing, publishing and book marketing. I don’t go off topic as people won’t stay interested.
* Be useful. Provide interesting and useful information and people will share your stuff. 80% of the time I tweet other people’s blog posts and links, and only 20% I link to my own. People trust that and will retweet and share the information.
* Interact and create relationships. Don’t be a spammer or a broadcaster. Interact on the network and become a part of the community. Most of my podcasts have come from people I met on twitter first and then connected with on the phone.
This is why I say you need to focus, otherwise you won’t be able to do these things effectively without spreading yourself too thin and becoming disheartened.
You can see how I do these things by following me on Twitterhttp://www.twitter.com/thecreativepenn
Twitter is my preferred and focused network of choice. Tweet me and mention the Blueprint and I’ll follow you back.
I also use Facebook http://www.facebook.com/TheCreativePenn if you prefer that network.
How effective is your social networking at the moment? Are you happy with where you are?
All the best on your Author 2.0 journey,
Joanna
