Day 8 will teach you about TOUCHING
YOUR VISITORS.

So, here’s Day 8: TOUCHING YOUR VISITORS

TOUCHING YOUR VISITORS

First off, let’s understand that the phrase “Touching
your Visitors” refers to CONTACTING your visitors, not
actually touching them physically. I don’t want you
getting yourself in any kind of trouble!

So, what we’re talking about here is contacting the
people who have visited your site, after they visit.
How do we do that? We get them to sign up for an Email
List.

THINK ABOUT THIS:

Average Conversion (turning a visitor into a sale) is
about 1.5%. That’s one POINT five percent. That means
that for ever 300 unique, individual different people
who visit your site, you should make 2 (count ‘em…two)
sales.

That means that your site needs lots of visitors, but
that’s where SEO, Social Marketing and Pay Per Click come
into play, and we’re not talking abou those here.
We’re talking about being able to contact the people who
just VISIT, and don’t buy.

THINK ABOUT THIS:

If only 1.5% of the people who visit your site buy something,
what happens to the other 98.5%? Did they buy something
from another site? Did they not buy anything that day at all?
Did they get sidetracked and buy something completely different
from another site?

The fact is that those 98.5% CAME to your site in the first
place. That means they are at least interested in what you’re
selling.

That’s a start.

The fact that there interested in what you’re selling means
that you should be able to interest them in some FREE INFO
about those products while they’re on your site. If you can
interest them in some free info about your products, you can
get them to give you their email address in exchange for that
info, and you can contact them again later even if they don’t
buy!

That’s called building a Mailing List.

You’ve seen sites that have a little box that says “Join Our
Newsletter”, right? Of course you have. Those people have the
right idea, but it’s the wrong execution.

People don’t want to join Newsletters for no good reason. The
simple fact is that there is so much junk email marketing out
there right now that nobody wants to join mailing lists of any
kind if they can help it.

HOWEVER, if somebody is interested in your products enough to
visit your site, you CAN give them something interesting enough
to get them to join your mailing list.

For example:

1. If you sell Baby Blankets, offer a list of “The Top 10 Most
Stylish Baby Blankets for 2010!” People LOVE top 10,
Top 5, and Top 3 lists. What young mother shopping for a blanket
for her new baby WOULDN’T want it to be one of the Top 10 most
stylish?

2. If you sell Marine GPS Units, offer a paper on “How To Use GPS
to Mark Your Favorite Fishing Holes”. People looking for Marine
GPS units are going to be fishermen in large part, and something
along those lines would definitely be appealing.

3. If you sell Self Defense products, offer a paper on “The 5
Fastest Ways to Disable an Attacker”. Popular title? You tell me!
The point is that you don’t want to simply ask people to join your
mailing or Newsletter list. You ened to offer something that people
will really want in exchange for that name and email address. If it’s
interesting enough, people will sign up for it.

Once they sign up for it, you can “Touch your Visitors” over and over
again, until they DO buy from you.

This is a MUST for any eBiz web site. You HAVE to do it. So, are
you going to go work on it right now? :o )
