“Whoever renders service to many puts himself in line for greatness.” ?Jim Rohn

Today in the U.S., the Memorial Day holiday is observed, as we honor and commemorate all U.S.
military men and women who died in service to their country.

Leaving a Legacy: Principles to Live By by Jim Rohn You know me, I am a philosopher. I love
principles. Yes, actions are great and I talk about them regularly, but the important stuff is what
lies underneath?the principles.

Here are what I consider to be the principles that we must commit to if we are to leave the legacy
we desire:

Life is best lived in service to others. This doesn’t mean that we do not strive for the best for
ourselves. It does mean that in all things we serve other people, including our family, co-workers
and friends.

Consider others’ interests as important as your own. Much of the world suffers simply because people

Vitamins for the Mind by Jim Rohn Success/Failure Success is not to be pursued; it is to be
attracted by the person you become.

Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don’t fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few
errors in judgment, repeated every day.

Don’t take the casual approach to life. Casualness leads to casualties.

Success is the study of the obvious. Everyone should take Obvious I and Obvious II in school.

It’s too bad failures don’t give seminars. Wouldn’t that be valuable? If you meet a guy who has
messed up his life for 40 years, you’ve just got to say, “John, if I bring my journal and promise to
take good notes, would you spend a day with me?”

Success is not so much what we have as it is what we are.

Success is 20 percent skills and 80 percent strategy. You might know how to read, but more
important, what’s your plan to read?

Average people look for ways of getting away with it; successful people look for ways of getting on
with it.

“Vitamins for the Mind” is a weekly sampling of original quotes on a specific topic taken from The

“The soil says, ‘Don’t bring me your need, bring me your seed.’” ?Jim Rohn

Choices by Darren Hardy We all come into this world the same: naked, scared and ignorant. After that
grand entrance, the life we end up with is simply an accumulation of all the choices we make. Our
choices can be our best friend or our worst enemy. They can deliver us to our goals or send us
orbiting into a galaxy far, far away.

Think about it. Everything in your life exists because you first made a choice about something.
Choices are at the root of every one of your results. Each choice starts a behavior that…

“God has the tough end of the deal. What if instead of planting the seed you had to make the tree?
That would keep you up late at night, trying to figure that one out.” —Jim Rohn
